Sweet November
Or is it? Had another long weekend. but i felt i could have been more productive or could have taken advantage of this long weekend to go out of town. The usual stuff i did - played billiards... and lost. No, it's not the money. Dfinitely not that. Ihate myself for not having the discipline to lessen my time spent on that table, knowing afterwards that hunger and laziness will greet me because, after a long bout with friends on the pool table, either i will be too tired to plan another activity for the day, or feel so hungry and negative.
Drink i did. Almost every night, except saturday. Damn. How can i drink last saturday when i got up at 4 in the afternoon. We were'nt finished drinking until 5 in the morning of that saturday.
I wasn't able to visit my lola's grave. I wasn't able to go to church either. Tho i was able to have my car checked for a heavy steering wheel, i was surprised to hear i needed to spend considerable amount again for maintenance.
If it's any consolation, i was able to watch The Correspondents last night. They featured the lakes of laguna, including sampaloc lake, which i really love. They tackled the pollution that's slowly killing the lakes. how inconsiderate and irresponsible can people get?
I was hugging my son khalvin early this morning, before i took the car to the shop. I realized he had grown so fast. I can vividly recall when he was young, whenever he hears or smells that i'm going out, he will run and sit inside the car - ahead of me. i would have to talk him into getting out of the car for he would not stop crying. He would cry as if i'm going abroad or will be gone for a such a long time. Or when he couldn't find me inside the house, he would climb up the window and look at his ninong george's house to check if i was there. If he sees me, he will shout at the top of his voice, "papa! uwi ka na dito!". That would mean you either go home or you take him with you.
I thank God for having a very very obedient and disciplined son. I could never imagine life without him.
Slowly, khalvin's starting to enjoy his semi-adolescent life now. he can go to the mall with his friends, or just hangout outside with the boys. Soon, i will never be able to hug him like i do before and now. Soon, he will be buying his own clothes, ordering his own food and going out with his barkada for a summer outing.
That's the circle of life..
